-- May 12, 2008: The GAC Homepage has undergone a remodeling. Hopefully this design is quite a bit more user- (and browser-) friendly ... navigationally and aesthetically. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

-- May 10, 2008: The GAC Forum has been completely rewritten, including a few interface changes. Also, GALiRe will no longer be offered for the forum; it has been replaced by BBCode. In addition to that, all users now have the ability to go back and alter or delete messages that they left ... only for posts created from this point forward, however.

-- February 17, 2008: GAC MyFiles 2,8,1 has been released. Now, if the ROOT folder is accesible to a user, only folders that they can access will show up on the list. Also, ability to specify permissions while creating a new folder is available.

-- February 1, 2008: Some of you have probably noticed a few GAC subdomains being taken down for maintenance over the past few weeks, Fortunately, most updates done to this site are completely transparent to visitors, so no notices are needed here. In this case we are doing nearly a complete code restructuring, and so entire subdomains will not function correctly during maintenance (this is why they are taken down for these periods). Since code is being rewritten, some things may get broken along the way; this is always a possibility, even though we unit test the code after we have finished. We would greatly appreciate emails to be sent in if you notice anything buggy during your visit!

-- July 1, 2006: The GAC Calendar has been completely redesigned, putting it at version 3,8,0! It should be much more user-friendly and efficient now.

-- May 12, 2006: Some big changes have been happening around here lately, including tweaked Top 50 lists and a major change to one of our central databases! So that means if you're poking around the site and something isn't working -- it's because of that! So contact us ASAP if you notice anything weird going on! Thanks =)

-- August 12, 2005: Global Aircraft celebrates its FIVE year anniversary today!! And to celebrate, we've added 25 new planes, 67 new images, and are finally releasing GAC Mail to the public! Permission is still pending for the use of Airbus images, so those aren't up yet ... but hopefully soon! Also, of the 25 aircraft added, some of them were from the WWI and WWII Aircraft sections! Happy Anniversary GAC!

-- July 24, 2005: GAC Mail has finally been created! The web interface was written entirely in GALiRe so we still need to do some testing on it to make sure we got all the bugs out. GACMail will be available to all members within the week ... but members must sign up for it specifically to get it (you don't get an email account just for being a member). More info soon!

-- January 08, 2005: Happy (late) new year! We've been busy working on a lot of stuff since our last update. Coming in the next few weeks will be (the long awaited) Airbus, WWII and WWI planes, as well as some new technologies for members. Also, GAC MyFiles has been expanded to 15 MB of free space (likely to increase to 30 MB soon)!

-- October 17, 2004: GAiNE (GAC Net Encryption) is at version 2,1,3 and is pretty much done. We still need to distribute reversion keys to the members and make sure everything works as expected, and then we can begin working on GAC Mail (GASI - GA Secure Inbox). Features of GASI will be a secure (up to 160-bit encryption right now) option, super-SPAM fighters, etc etc. Look out (for it)!

-- August 12, 2004: We've had lots of big events within the last few months. Breaking 1,000 pictures, breaking 1,000 members, and now one more! Global Aircraft is officially four years old today! On August 12, 2000, the Global Aircraft Organization was established and has been growing ever since. To celebrate our birthday, our volunteers have helped whip up 17 new aircraft to add to our database, as well as invent some brand new technologies for the website (hopefully to be fully-implemented by next month). Airbus is also on the drawing block, but we didn't have time to get the pages up because of copyright issues with pictures. Look for Airbus over the next week or two! A great thanks goes out to all of the volunteers for their hard word! Happy Birthday GAC!

-- July 11, 2004: GAC has broken 1,000 members. Welcome all new members!

-- June 16, 2004: 27 new aircraft pircutes have been added to the site.

-- June 14, 2004: Seven new planes have been added: the CF-105 Avro Arrow, FH-1 Phantom, F2H Banshee, F3H Demon, F3D Skyknight, F4D Skyray, and F11F Tiger.

-- April 18, 2004: GAC has broken 1,000 aircraft pictures: 63 new aircraft pictures have been added to our database! GALiRe has also been extensively worked on.

-- March 14, 2004: GAC Calendar v. 3,5,1 has been released, with tons of holidays and email reminders! Also, some small glitches have been patched. GAC Web Awards 2004-2005 has also been started for this year.
